Christian James

A Trinidad & Tobago native, James earned a BA in film production at the University of the West Indies. Under a Fulbright scholarship he then moved to the US and attained an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia College Chicago. He interned at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival with K5 International, a foreign sales agency, and was a producer participant of the Rotterdam Lab at the 2015 International Film Festival Rotterdam. Committed to advancing Caribbean cinema on the World stage, James continuously produces and develops narrative feature films including Green Days by the River, and the biographical thriller of a notorious Caribbean figure, which he won ‘Best Film in Development’ at Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival 2014.

Michael Mooleedhar

Director Mooleedhar yielding from the soil of Trinidad and Tobago brings with him a wealth of experience. He has earned a BA in film and a MA in creative design entrepreneurship both from The University of the West Indies. Over the years he has had many successful experimental-shorts, documentaries and music videos. Within his past films, he won the people’s choice award TTFF/ 2009, opened the Pravasi Film Festival in New Delhi, India and released to sold-out audiences TTFF/ 2012. A master of networking, Mooleedhar has attended many film festivals including tiff/ 2013, SXSW/ 2015, and LA Film Fest / 2015, to expand his international outlook. Later that year he would win People's Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival 2015. Green Days by the River is his debut as a feature film director. Andressa Cor

Andressa Cor was born and raised in the south of Brazil, got her BFA in cinema from Paraná University of Art, her BFA in Engraving from the equally respectable Paraná School of Music and Arts, in Brazil, and her MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute, in USA (Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grant and New Filmmakers Program at Panavision recipient). Her thesis film at AFI, “Stealth”, won a 2015 Student Academy Award, an honorable mention at the 68th Cannes Film Festival, and several other film festivals around the world. In 2015, she was selected one of the 6 cinematographers for the Project Involve Program, making her one of the 30 new voices of filmmaking presented by Film Independent. She works in independent cinema mainly with short and feature length fiction, have shot in South America, USA and the Caribbean. Gabriel Figueroa’s visual storytelling and Goya’s engravings influences her the most.

Kenneth Detterline

Kenneth Detterline is an award winning writer and producer and an M.F.A. candidate for Columbia College Chicago’s Creative Producing program. He has worked on a variety of sets in various capacities, from directing and producing independent feature films and music videos made with pocket change to line producing official TV spots and commercials with five-figure budgets. As a producer, he has learned that filmmaking is like weaving a web, every strand important, every collaborative role vital, and that each logistical strand serves as a literal thread to hold the intertwining elements together. He enjoys the collaborative process of filmmaking, whether in development or on-set, and creates off-kilter, avant-garde films on shoestring budgets.

Author of Novel 'Green Days by the River'

Michael Anthony is an eminent Caribbean author and historian, who has been named one of the "50 most influential people in Trinidad and Tobago". In his five[decade career, Anthony has had over 30 titles published, including novels, collections of short fiction, travelogues and histories. Written in a sparse style, his works were often coming-of-age stories featuring young protagonists from his native village of Mayaro. In the mid-1950s Anthony left Trinidad to live in England, where he worked at the Reuters News Agency and began his career as a writer. In 1979 Michael Anthony was awarded the Hummingbird Medal (Gold) for his contributions to Literature, and he received an honorary doctorate from the University of the West Indies in 2003.   

With a feverish imagination, impeccable musicianship, complexity, versatility, unbridled joy, and fearlessness, Laura Karpman makes music, which is, in the words of George Manahan, music director of the American Composer’s Orchestra, "a rare combination of heart and groin." With her rigorous musical approach, coupled with conceptual and progressive uses of technology and recording, Laura is a true 21st century American composer. She is one of a handful of female composers with an active career in film and television, winning four Emmys and receiving an additional seven nominations, an Annie Award nomination, and a GANG award and nomination for her video game music. She was named one of the most important women in Hollywood by VARIETY MAGAZINE, and is a professor at UCLA in the School of Theater, Film, and Television.  She is a founder and president of the Alliance for Women Film Composers. She serves on the Music Peer Group Executive Committee of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, was recently invited to join the Music Branch of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Dawn's work in film/video production includes co-writing and directing documentaries for the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ministry of Social Development. She was named Boston University’s Outstanding Student Screenwriter in 2004 and upon her return to Trinidad, wrote several scripts including Green Days by the River,currently being produced. 

Nathan Ruyle is the founder, supevising sound designer and re-recording mixer at This is Sound Design. He has an MFA in Sound and New Media Design from California Institute of the Arts, where he is currently an adjunct professor in the School of Film/Video and Center for Integrated Media. Nathan is also a technologist and software developer, creating new tools and infrastructure for a variety of traditional and emerging contexts.
